Brooke's Books

Hello Everyone! It's been quite a while since anyone has posted on here. Alisha and I tried to keep it going, but life happened and things got busy. Lately, I started thinking about this blog and how fun it was for everyone! We had all kinds of reviews and contests with people interacting with one another. It was a good community for those who loved to read. This is why I would like to announce that I have started up my own blog, Brooke's Books. It's not nearly as big as Alisha's website and it's just starting up, but I'm putting up a lot of the same kinds of reviews on my blog. So if any of you were missing the content on Alisha's blog, you should look up my blog here . I'll be announcing weekly releases (as I used to), book reviews, and other fun features I'm working on. I started reading Everneath by Brodi Ashton


"I reached for his hand , then hesitated as I remembered that face. The one with the brown eyes. The boy with the hands that fit mine just right. I'm not sure how, but I knew if I went with Cole, I'd never see that face again. The boy with that face was not an Everliving. 
He was a human, and he was on the Surface. Where I'd left him. I knew it like I knew I needed air to live. 
"No," I said. I pushed away from him and stood up on my own. Somewhere in the back of my mind, I knew I had another choice. "I'm going home."

"I closed my eyes and pictured the boy with the brown hair, and as I took in my first really deep breath of Surface air, a name to math the face came to me. A name I'd been trying to cling to for a century."
What am I liking about this book? I like that the story starts by the end of the story and then we have to work our way back to see why the main character did what she did and how was her life in the past while still moving on in the future. It's pretty awesome, and the boy with the brown hair? He seems so dreamy!

Bookish Question: Reading Stats

How Many Books Do You Read? In a year, what is your set challenge? Do you even set a challenge? When you create an account on Goodreads every year it asks you if you want to set a "challenge" for yourself. How many books do you cant to read a year? Last year I challenged myself to read 80 books. I read 76. I think my initial intention was to read 75, but then I got cocky. The year before that I also challenged myself to read 75 books and read 76. 2011's Challenge... I dont even want to talk about it. The truth is every year I didn't have a game plan. I just read for the sake of reading. Because I love it, because I wanted to immerse myself in another person's world. This year is slightly different. I finished College, graduated, and got a part time job (finding a full time job is a pain in the butt). So I have the time. Most importantly, I have a plan.      Every week I try to read 3 books.
